/>Yesterday (July 10th) was a traumatic but great day for little Greer. First, we celebrated her turning 2 months old. Then, she received her 2 month shots, and I am quite sure that our nurse set the North American record for fastest administration of shots. She gave Greer 5 shots in less than 10 seconds. Greer handled the whole event very well, and she only cried for a brief moment before mom made everything better.

Dr. Halsell also informed us yesterday that Greer is a very healthy baby. On her 2 week checkup she was in the 25th percentile for weight, but as of yesterday, she is now in the 85th percentile weighing in at a lean and mean 12 pounds 3 ounces. Also, she is in the 75th percentile for height. What else can we say, the girl likes to eat. Lastly, Greer decided to put on an exhibition yesterday during her doctor's visit. While lying on her stomach, she rolled over onto her back for the first time ever. Mom and dad love little Greer and we can't wait to see the progress she will make over the next 2 months of her life.

<img width='1' height='1' tank of gas costing a small fortune these days, the idea of putting your upset baby in her car seat and driving around for hours is no longer economically feasible. So, the G-Berg family has come up with a better alternative: walking around the block for hours and hours. And we have also come to discover that walking isn't always the solution. Sometimes Greer likes for daddy to jog until the bouncing finally lulls her to sleep. Here is a picture of dad and Greer coming in from a nice, long, hot walk around the neighborhood using the Baby Bjorn. In case you can't tell, she is sleeping quite well.

Week 2: Mount Vesuvius and the Supermodel

While the title of this entry may not be crystal clear initially, a little explanation will help straighten everyone out. Greer's second week of life was filled with many new adventures just like the first week.

On Friday, Greer had her 2 week checkup at the pediatrician's office. I can't tell you what all they check for during this visit, but I know for sure she would have enjoyed the visit more if the temperature in the doctor's office would have been warmer than 60 degrees. If I needed a coat just to sit there, I can only imagine how cold Greer must have been laying on the examination table with only a diaper on. But that's beside the point. During this visit, they weighed and measured Greer. She weighed 7 pounds 11.5 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches tall. This put her in the 70th percentile for height and 25th percentile for weight. Our daughter quite tall and slender, or as some might say, she is a supermodel (but without the eating disorder). One other note, Greer had grown 3/4 of an inch in the two weeks she has been born. If she keeps up this pace, she will be 6 feet tall on her third birthday (that might look awkward).

Did you hear that rumble on Saturday morning? No, Mount Vesuvius is not threatening to erupt again, that was simply a little baby's bowel movement. After a 24 hour stint of constipation, I (dad) made the medical suggestion of "Let's take her diaper off, that's bound to make her go." And it worked. She went, and went, and went while mom and dad cheered alongside.

What a Duet

We decided to dig into the archives (if 10 weeks old constitutes archives) this evening for our latest post. We know you've heard of famous singing duos like Sonny and Cher or Donnie and Marie, but have you ever heard of the Baker Duo? After Greer was born, the Baker Duo took a break from their busy summer schedule of Six Flags, Sea World, and swimming pools to stop by Presbyterian Hospital and welcome Greer to the world. Here they are on the day she was born singing a rousing rendition of "Jesus Loves Me" to their favorite cousin.

Keep an eye on Will near the end of the video as he appears to show an innate ability to play the piano on Greer's body.

Saturday May 10, 2008 at 9:41 AM our sweet little Greer was born. She weighed an even 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. Thanks to the epidural, Kristi was able to enjoy the birth without too much discomfort. We are thankful for the great nurses and doctors at Presbyterian Hosptital who took such great care of all of us (dad included) during the birth and subsequent hospital stay.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: glad to be home now where each day is a new adventure. We are learning quickly that Greer loves to go to the bathroom as soon as you take her diaper off and she really dislikes onesies with small openings for her head to fit through. We have grown to love kimono tops and we have already been shopping for a few more of them

<img
